    We will have a meeting tomorrow morning at 7:15 in Mrs. Stewarts room (downstairs E).  If you need hours, bring food! T- shirt ideas will still be accepted, but we will be voting soon.  Also, exciting history trips will be mentioned for spring semester. GET PUMPED!

Welcome Back Members and Welcome New Members!

      Hopefully, you have received emails from us!  As you know Wednesday, October 21st, is the induction ceremony for the club.  Old and New members are welcome and we ask that you dress in a semi formal attire.  Please bring food for service hours. If you bring one item you get one hour, two items for two hours, and we ask that you bring dessert and dinner items.  Parents are more than welcome to come! We ask that you arrive around 6:15pm after school Wednesday.  If you have any issues, please alert one of the officers or Mrs. Stewart.  See you Wednesday! :) 

Last Meeting Tomorrow!

Last meeting is tomorrow, May 28th at 7:20 in Mrs. Stewart's Room! We are looking forward to seeing all of the new members tomorrow! Out with the old and in with the new as we retire our old officers and induct new officers, as well as distribute cords in a small ceremony to qualifying seniors.

Hi HHS. So sorry for the lack of email communication this evening, but there's been some miscommunication- THERE WILL BE NO HISTORY HONOR SOCIETY MEETING TOMORROW, MAY 21ST.
We've had obstacles with officer communication and availability for Mrs. Stewart and us as a Cabinet.

THERE WILL BE A MEETING NEXT THURSDAY, MAY 28, RUN BY THE NEW OFFICERS. WE WILL MEET WITH NEW OFFICERS ON TUESDAY, MAY 26TH.

So sorry for the miscommunication.

Service Hours!

Hi HHS. All hours are due Thursday before the meeting. This is where seniors get their cords. SO, please submit hours by Wednesday night, preferably.

New Officers

Sup bros. All students who submitted applications to be officers will have a short interview on Wednesday- we'll share who the officers are and then talk you through the meeting process for Thursday morning, which the new officers will be running.We will review applications this afternoon and inform new club members tomorrow.

Reminders:

We're looking forward to History Week and hope you all are as well. We want to make this a fun week and get the interest of some potential members for next year.

Please remember as we draw closer to the end of the year, we will be having application and interview processes for officers, and the more involved you are, the more likely you'll be a great candidate for an officer. Which can go on your college applications and looks great.

Additionally, remember that all seniors who are involved in the club will receive honor cords for graduation, and if you get kicked out, you obviously won't receive the cord.

Keep up with your service hours! Please remember there are opportunities at the middle school for tutoring- please see Sarah for details!

History Week!

Hey, y'all! This is the line-up for History Week next week. Unfortunately, we've had a few hiccups with the field trip, so we've had to move some days around, and we're still moving days around- so please be patient with us, we've been trying to pre-plan as best we can with some obstacles in the way.

Please remember that you are REQUIRED to participate on your assigned day, and we offer hours for participation on other days. We're asking around for extra-credit opportunities with teachers for involvement.

Monday: Museum Night- Monday night's the night to show off your super old artifacts lying around your house, or items that have historical significance. This is in the media center at 5:30.

Tuesday: International Food Day- family heritage dishes would be awesome, but it's fine if it's not family heritage. Please bring enough to feed your family and a recipe card to accompany the dish saying what it is and any possible allergy issues (peanuts, treenuts, etc...)

Wednesday: Trivia Night- A hit returning from last year, Trivia Night is to show off your mad Jeopardy Skillz, specifically in the history categories. It's great fun, so come on out! 5:30 in the Media center. If you're on the committee, please be there at 5.

Thursday: Because our field trip is being rescheduled, Thursday night is an off-night. Please use it to discuss your own family histories OR attend the band concert at 7- support your fellow students!

Friday: Friday is a Dress-up Day! Dress up as your favorite/an iconic figure in history!! There are prizes for really good costumes! There will also be extra-credit for most history teachers. Judging will be first block on Friday.

Hi, HHS Members! A reminder we have a meeting next Thursday at 7:15 in Mrs. Stewart's room E208- we'll be discussing service opportunities and the upcoming events of the school year.

A reminder that you can bring breakfast items to the meeting for service hours. Also, if you arrive after 7:20 the door will be locked, you will be counted absent, and you'll be out of luck; if you accumulate 2 absences you're on probation.

Meeting Tomorrow!

Hello Members, new and old! HHS has our inaugural meeting tomorrow (9/11/14) in Mrs. Stewart's room E208. The meeting will START at 7:30 and we will close the door at that time, which will not be re-opened once shut. Attention 2014-2015 Potential Applicants!

Hello potential members! Thank you for your interest in HHS! There are links below to the HHS constitution and the new member application. Please read the entire HHS constitution before filling out the application, so that you will understand all club requirements. The application needs to be typed, except for the teacher signatures, and it will be due Wednesday, September 3rd. Please turn it in by 3:00 pm on that day to Mrs. Winchester in E203. If you know that you are going to be absent that day, you may turn it in one day early.
